Teaching Style

Woodwind instruments provide some of the most identifiable sounds and melodies in music, and can be some of the most rewarding instruments to learn.  I strive to combine exercises that build and improve fundamental skills with what is often considered more "fun" content (popular or familiar songs, material based on students' input, etc.)  to develop plans for each individual student that are unique, diverse, and engaging.

Approach

Learning a woodwind instrument requires instruction in both non-physical elements (like note and rhythm reading or proper fingerings) and physical elements (like proper mouth position and producing air/breath the correct way).
